Why animate phase to 10pi instead of only 2pi?

the animation replicate 5times over the 250 frame, it is much faster to only render 50 frame and then use the video editor to replay this segment 5x (or whatever). or am I missing something?

That is one way to do it. It's just a matter of preference. If you have a high-end system the time to setup the Video editor plus the render the output can be a very small amount of time saved. Sometimes people forget that Blender has a video editor, and other times they just prefer to render the full animation, or they haven't learned Blender's video editor. You can also combine them in the compositor. So many options.

The multiplier changes the speed of the loop.
So yes, 2pi over 50 frames is the same as 10pi over 250 frames.

How you do it will depend on the project, if you have another loop elsewhere in the scene at a different speed, the number of frames you render will need to be considered for all loops.

I think a project later in the course will demonstrate this.
